Abstract Seascapes that move you!

Who doesn’t love the ocean?

Having frequented the beaches of South-East Asia since being a kid, there are countless reasons why I love the Sea so much! It is a place which calms my mind and soothes the soul. Just staring at the waves brings back nostalgia and happy memories.

Marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols believes that we all have a “blue mind that is a mildly meditative state characterized by calm, peacefulness, unity, and a sense of general happiness and satisfaction with life in the moment.” Wallace thinks that this is triggered when we’re in or near water.

The Ocean has not only a way of capturing our imagination, but enchanting and intriguing us with mysteries of the unexplored. From providing us with food, to regulating the planet’s temperature and climate. More than half of the oxygen we breathe is provided by the phytoplankton in the oceans.

Moved by the depth and the gorgeous hues of the ocean, it is as though I’m uncovering the secrets of the ocean as I paint. Its vastness and numerous lifeforms greatly influences my work.

Even though we humans have shown the ocean some love by trying to protect its ecosystems and preserve its valuable resources, a lot more needs to be done on this front. This is just a small effort on my part to bring about awareness and appreciation for its continuity and conservation.
